چکیده
Purpose: Ischemic stroke is a serious health condition in patients with young adults. This study aims to determine thrombophilia polymorphisms ischemic and associations other risk factors.
Materials Methods: We evaluated 64 under 50 years old. Computerized Tomography Angiography, Holter Electrocardiography, Transthoracic Echocardiography, status, Modifying Rankin Scale (MRS) baseline first month findings were recorded. analysed the association between status short-term outcome adults stroke.
Results: (38 male, 59.4%) included our study. The mean age of 42.486.73. showed that most frequent polymorphism was MTHFRA1298T mutation (18.8% homozygous, 43.7% heterozygous). second MTHFRC677T third Factor 5 Leiden mutation, 21.8% homozygous 34.4% heterozygous mutation. 7.8% have atrial fibrillation, 17.2% them patent foramen ovale, elevated pulmonary artery pressure (>30 mmHg). Thrombophilia PFO not associated IS adults.
Conclusion: Young several thrombophilial polymorphism; however, we did detect any IS. also many classic factors which should be treated appropriately. Patent ovale another remarkable pathology more researches are needed realize its relation

Long-term outcome after arterial ischemic stroke in children and young adults.
OBJECTIVE To compare long-term outcome of children and young adults with arterial ischemic stroke (AIS) from 2 large registries. METHODS Prospective cohort study comparing functional and psychosocial long-term outcome (≥2 years after AIS) in patients who had AIS during childhood (1 month-16 years) or young adulthood (16.1-45 years) between January 2000 and December 2008, who consented to foll...
متن کاملCancer in young adults with ischemic stroke.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Cancer is a risk factor for ischemic stroke. Little is known about cancer among young adults with ischemic stroke. We studied the frequency of cancer and its association with long-term risk of death among young patients with first-ever ischemic stroke. METHODS 1002 patients aged 15 to 49 years, registered in the Helsinki Young Stroke Registry, and with a median follow-u...
متن کاملThrombolysis in young adults with ischemic stroke.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE No exclusive systematic data exist on the safety and outcomes of thrombolytic treatment in young patients with ischemic stroke. METHODS We evaluated all 48 patients aged 16 to 49 years with hemispheric ischemic stroke treated with intravenous alteplase in Helsinki University Central Hospital from 1994 to 2007. For comparison of outcome, we selected, blinded to outcome d...
متن کاملPreceding and poststroke infections in young adults with first-ever ischemic stroke: effect on short-term and long-term outcomes.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Poststroke infections (PSIs) worsen the outcome in acute ischemic stroke, but the effect of preceding infection (PI) is controversial. Data on young patients are scarce. We characterized PI and PSI in young adults with first-ever stroke and studied whether they are associated with 3-month and long-term outcomes, recurrent vascular events, and death. METHODS From our dat...
متن کاملRelationship Between Hyperacute Blood Pressure and Outcome After Ischemic Stroke
Background and Purpose—High blood pressure (BP) is associated independently with poor outcome after acute ischemic stroke, although in most analyses “baseline” BP was measured 24 hours or more postictus, and not during the hyperacute period. Methods—Analyses included 1722 patients in hyperacute trials (recruitment 8 hours) from the Virtual Stroke International Stroke Trial Archive (VISTA) Colla...
